About our Program
MoonStar Farms
Jenny McKilllip brings a rare and unique combination of skills to the ring as a riding instructor. She has competed extensively in open and breed specific events in the Western, English and Hunter/Jumper disciplines. In addition to her riding and training skills Jenny also has an extensive background in nutrition, giving her the ability to spot the difference between an equine behavioral issue and a nutritional one. Warm, supportive, and insightful, Jenny brings out the confidence in the most timid rider.
Jenny believes success with your horse begins on the ground by building softness and responsiveness through a series of exercises that go from halter work and work into bridle work. She also believes that to be a good trainer, one must remain a student and clinics with clinicians such as Buck Brannaman and Kathleen Lindley Beckham as often as possible as well as taking lessons with other clinicians and trainers when the opportunities are available. "When I continue to work on myself, I find I always return to my students with fresh insights and inspiration," Jenny says.
Jenny is a certified level one Cowboy Dressage Clinician and continuing her education to become a level two Clinician in 2018. She will also be taking the necessary classes to become a certified Cowboy Dressage Judge.
In 2016 Jenny started CDNW, a Cowboy Dressage group that runs a number of Cowboy Dressage Gatherings with clinics and shows in the Eastern Oregon/Washington areas.
